Well I have had enough of logging in here and seeing nothing except spam posts needing to be deleted so I have decided to break this thing in properly.  The best way I can figure to do this is to start a round of introductions to let everyone know a bit about the other members, how they found themselves here and how they use Civil 3D so I will just start out.
My user name is who I am . . . aka The Dinosaur if you happen to go to go wading into TheSwampP.  You may also know that my time flying Civil 3D is on at least temporary hold pending a rebound in subdivision work here in Kansas City, Missouri.  My time in exile though has not tempered my interest in Civil 3D and I try to keep current with trial versions as much as possible.
My own adventure with Civil 3D started with total frustration fighting the 2004 pre release and finally took off when 2005 finally came out.  My acquaintance with Michael Farrell started then when I realized there was no way I could self train my way into proficiency this time.  My design responsibilities were a bit unusual for Civil 3D users as I concentrated less on the corridor modeling and grading, instead spending about 3/4 of my time doing sanitary and storm sewer design and most of the rest in surveys and plat work.
I hope you enjoy this forum that Michael has provided and find it a useful source of information.  I will be doing my best to keep the peace around here and can any spam that finds its way in.
